A documentary film about the life and work of Stamen Grigorov

The documentary film "Bacillus Bulgaricus" was screened as part of the National Festival of Bulgarian Cinema "Vasil Gendov". The film tells the story of the life and work of the discoverer of the famous bacterium - Dr. Stamen Grigorov. His family sent him to study in Geneva and despite financial difficulties, he achieved remarkable success by discovering the microorganisms responsible for lactic acid fermentation, namely Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus (also known as Lactobacillus bulgaricus). Part of the film was shot at the Stephan Angeloff Institute of Microbiology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and its creators are director Tsvetomir Matev, screenwriters Pencho Kovachev and Marin Damyanov, and Pavel Pavlov (executive producer).
